The Last Dragon

What I made Jon for his birthday! It's an inside joke that would take far too long to explain. I printed with Artifact Uprising and it turned out really amazing.

Every cover I've ever made for the Pixar Detective

So if you've explored this blog at all, you'll notice there is a page dedicated solely to the art I've done for Pixar Detective, and a super long list of covers is probably unnecessary.

I don't care.

I put these images in order from the last chapter to the first chapter. I did this because I'm a little self conscious of the art that I did when we first started Pixar Detective. I was definitely a different artist back then, and although I strongly feel that a portfolio shouldn't tell the story of how you "got better" as an artist, thats basically what the Pixar Detective is. Its the story of how I learned to draw stories and how Jon learned to write them. We made a lot of obvious mistakes and even skipped a deadline (that was completely my fault) but we finished a weird fan fiction serial novel about original characters existing inside a theory explaining how all the Pixar movies are connected. And people actually liked it. Wow.

What I've been doing for the past 6 weeks

Coming to a blog no one reads as soon as it ships to my apartment.

Hey I'm super excited and exhausted and relieved to announce that I self published a book through a company called Artifact Uprising. And I'm making a big obnoxious deal about it because it means I finished my last project for my last art class and I'm graduating in a matter of weeks. Yikes.

So I had this idea to kind of refresh a story we've all heard about a million times, and even though I am my worst critic (seriously I can't even stand to look at my art sometimes) I really enjoyed putting a new twist on an old fairytale that seriously scared the crap out of me as a child.

So in the days to come, I'll be showcasing some of the spreads I created for this project here on my blog. I hope you love it as much as I enjoyed making it.

An Awakening of Worlds

It's finally here! You can read part 2 of The Pixar Detective here. I think I was having withdraws or something because I've been drawing a lot of these characters lately, including tiny versions of Cara and Logan. I love these characters and can't wait to accompany them on their journey through part 3

I Think I Know What a Serial Novel is Now

Today I was informed that The Pixar Detective has reached two million total downloads. Thats a lot of total downloads. I did this quick doodle of Logan doing her Logan thing and shooting fire just to say thanks for sticking around week after week to support this story. And speaking of gratitude, I really wouldn't be the artist/illustrator/insomniac I am today without Jon Negroni deciding to click the link to my tiny art blog. So THANKS.
